Community service allows our Club members to give back to the community and help make meaningful differences in the lives of people in our community. The Club’s “giving back” is possible thanks to fundraising projects undertaken throughout the year and our members generously donating their time and resources.

     

In fiscal year 2023, more than $45,700 was awarded to area non-profits.
Funds raised from the Club’s annual Field Of Honor resulted in $22,858 in grants being awarded to non-profits that provide services to veterans and first responders in 2023. Grant amounts ranged from $750 to $3,588: 
  • Platte River Veterans Flyfishing – Provided five guided fly-fishing day trips for up to 15 veterans
  • High Plains Honor Flight – Supported Washington DC trip for local veterans
  • Hearts & Horses – Covered tuition for equine therapy for local veterans 
  • Healing Warriors - 
  • Health4Heroes – Funded 10 veterans and first responders to participate in Take Command Program to improve overall quality of life
  • Outreach Fort Collins – Supported Outreach Program
  • First Responder Trauma Services – Supported Peer Connect Program for first responders and frontline workers
  • Revital Colorado – Supported family outings for first responders to improve mental health and well-being
Thanks to fundraising efforts such as Field Of Honor, Peaches Helping Preschoolers and 4K Raffle, our Club awarded close to $23, 0000 in grants—ranging from $750 to $3,500—to 10 community non-profits in 2023: 
  • Finally Home – Family Strengthening Program to support foster families
  • The Vegetable Connection – CSA for low-income families to help extend vegetable availability through the winter months
  • Mujeres de Colores – Posadas Project, supported low-income families with warm winter clothing and grocery gift cards for nutritious food
  • Project Self-Sufficiency – Healthy Families Program ‘s Transportation Fund that provides safe, reliable transportation for low-income families
  • Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department – Helped equip a new ambulance with life-saving equipment
  • Coats & Boots – Provided warm winter coats and boots for 33 low-income children
  • Outreach Fort Collins – Supported its outreach program to make streets safer
  • The Lauren Project – Provided 50 carbon monoxide detectors in low-income communities
  • Disabled Resource Services – Helped fund the Give a Lift Campaign to repair office elevator and mobility equipment
  • Food Bank of Larimer County – Supported Kids Café Summer Meal Program, providing approx. 400 meals
In addition to having a positive impact on our community via grants, Club members put “Service Above Self” in action by volunteering:  
  • 492 hours at Food Bank of Larimer County (32 Rotarians)
  • Weekly meal deliveries for Meals on Wheels
  • Monthly clean ups at the Rendezvous Trail
  • Handing out treats at the Lee Martinez Farm’s Treatslyvania
Club members also reached into their own pockets and donated. . .
  • Carloads of hygiene products to the Early Childhood Education Center
  • Toys and winter clothing at Christmastime to low-income families
